Statement rejecting the coup in Bolivia
From the GCLACSO Working Group Critical Extension: Theories and Practices in Latin America and the CaribbeanWe express our strong rejection of the coup in Bolivia that forced the resignation of the sitting constitutional President Evo Morales Ayma and Vice President Álvaro García Linera.
It is essential to preserve the lives of Bolivians by ceasing attacks and persecution. Security forces must ensure the safety of citizens and prevent any interference in the institutional life and political dynamics of the Plurinational State of Bolivia.
The search for democratic paths that contribute to institutional normalization must be carried out without any foreign interference, adhering to the current Constitution, promoting a democratic solution without restrictions and/or proscriptions.
