Declaration of Condemnation of the Imperialist Attack against Venezuela

The CLACSO Working Group “Crisis, Responses and Alternatives in the Greater Caribbean” denounces the attack carried out by the United States against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. This act of aggression constitutes a blatant violation of international law and a direct affront to the sovereignty of a free people. There is no justification whatsoever for military intervention or for the policies of domination that seek to impose by force the interests of U.S. imperialism, which is even more Monroe Doctrine-like and messianic in its actions at this moment of crisis of its hegemony.

History condemns those who sow violence and destruction to seize the resources of other countries. As a community of scholars and activists from the Greater Caribbean, we unequivocally condemn these attacks and urge respect for peace and the inalienable right of peoples to determine their own destiny without external interference.

We demand the immediate cessation of all military operations and the complete withdrawal of any foreign presence from Venezuelan territory. We call upon governments, social movements, and popular organizations worldwide to unite against interventionism and strengthen anti-imperialist unity. Venezuela is not alone: active solidarity is our response to imperialist violence.

Let us defend the dignity, independence, and freedom of Venezuela and all the peoples of the world.
