Care and gender
The CLACSO Working Group on Care and Gender seeks to consolidate a Latin American academic network of experts in care to promote the exchange and deepening of comparative studies among the countries of the region and enhance their impact on current public discussions on national care policies that require the critical contribution of academia with a transformative gender approach.
To contribute to the strengthening of civil society organizations that promote the necessary transformations in the social organization of care in order to advance towards national policies that recognize, redistribute and redefine care work.
To strengthen Latin American contributions to regional and international debates and transformation processes that place care at the center of policy and promote progress towards care societies, which implies changes in governance, in the conception of well-being and in the role of States in guaranteeing the right to care for those who require and provide care.
