Care, affectivity and posthuman lives (AI)
The CLACSO Working Group Care, affectivity and posthuman lives (AI)The group aims to investigate the profound tensions existing in Latin America and the Caribbean between the centrality of life and the logic of advanced capitalism. Its central concern revolves around care and affectivity, as well as the challenges posed by the processes of capturing subjectivity, the commodification of desire, and technological determinism, among other issues. The group proposes a research approach based on critical convergences, consolidating the power of affect, the centrality of care, and the impetus for technological appropriation (AI) at the level of situated creative experimentation.
The GT's fundamental objective is to consolidate critical thinking from the Global South that proposes alternative modes of existence to the logic of capital, taking the "Affective Turn" and "becoming a caregiver" as tools of micropolitical resistance. Through the articulation of territorial knowledge and the promotion of "open science," the group seeks to empower communities and reconfigure collective sensibilities to overcome exclusionary dichotomies. It also proposes an ethical appropriation of technologies, including AI, that allows for a transition
towards posthuman and caring lives, capable of sustaining life and fostering collaboration and social justice in our regional context.
