Bodies of Injustice: A Feminist Critique from Central America
As part of Women's Month 2024, we present this essential new anthology that offers a journey through the prolific output of Montserrat SagotShe is one of the most important figures in the region in the field of feminist epistemology. Her work brings together insightful reflections that are fundamental to transforming the realities experienced by women in Latin America through the pursuit of justice, the eradication of violence, and freedom.
The first part of this book addresses her work on femicide, a concept that this sociologist translated and adapted in an analytical exercise that expanded this issue to the reality of Central America. The second part brings together texts that intertwine activism and academia. The final section, meanwhile, is dedicated to violence against women. Her texts engage in dialogue with a plurality of approaches, histories, and voices that struggle, resist, and dream of those other possible worlds that the author persists in envisioning and that prompt us to consider the challenges of building a feminist utopia.
