The health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has deepened the global economic crisis and the erosion of the legitimacy of states that began in 2008. This compels us to redouble our efforts to analyze the reality produced by global capitalism and its current crisis, and to create and recreate strategies to advance the transformation of this reality.
That is why the members of the Permanent Seminar on Chicano and Border Studies (DEAS-INAH), the Mexican Network for Action against Free Trade (RMALC), and the Working Group “Borders, Regionalization and Globalization” of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO), joined efforts for this task
We believe that the proposal to produce Working Notebooks where ideas, analyses, collective reflections, work and action plans are captured, is part of our contribution to continue a task in which we have been immersed for several decades.
The first issue of these Working Papers contains notes for a current analysis of the economic crisis and the government's contingency measures in response to COVID-19 in Mexico, which we hope will be enriched by the suggestions, criticisms, and proposals of all those interested in the topic.
We also invite you to contribute writings to these Working Papers.
