 Crisis, responses and alternatives in the Greater Caribbean

El CLACSO Working Group Crisis, responses and alternatives in the Greater Caribbean It examines the challenges and possibilities of Caribbean territories to advance on the path of sustainable development with inclusion and social justice.

It starts from the recognition of the specific obstacles to development faced by most

the Caribbean territories classified as Small Island Developing States (SIDS), as well as the group of countries that share coasts and the valuable resource of the Caribbean Sea.

The GT promotes research into development alternatives that the Gran Caribbean region, immersed in economic, social, environmental and security crises, demands.

This analysis pays particular attention to the specific characteristics, vulnerabilities and potential of Caribbean territories and societies from the national perspective and the regional level that articulates various mechanisms of integration and cooperation.

Through research and exchange with other actors, the CLACSO Working Group on Crisis, Responses and Alternatives in the Greater Caribbean It aims to influence the formulation of public policies as one of the ways to respond to problems and overcome obstacles to Caribbean development.
