CLACSO Working Group The Central American Isthmus: Rethinking the Centers
This book is the result of work carried out by the CLACSO Working Group "The Central American Isthmus: Rethinking the Centers." The texts provide an overview of the health strategies used to manage the pandemic, but focus on analyzing the sociopolitical crises that deepened within the various Central American states due to the spread of the virus. Through interdisciplinary perspectives, all the texts reveal the consequences of the pandemic on the most vulnerable, the increase in social insecurity, and the breakdown of democratic order, which, under the pretext of "containing the virus," were promoted in the various states.
