Throughout the course, the research process will be explained using a quantitative approach, from research design to data analysis. Within this framework, the different stages of the research process will be presented to provide a comprehensive overview of the characteristics and scope of this approach.
- Theories and concepts: relevance, pertinence and opportunity.
- Research design: matrix of categories and analytical dimensions
- Operationalization and selection of observables
- Definition of the type of study (survey or census). Design of instruments and collection of evidence.
- Statistical sampling.
- Database creation, validation, and processing (in SPSS).
- Descriptive analysis: frequencies and contingencies (in SPSS).
- Inferential analysis: linear regression analysis (in SPSS)
- Coefficient analysis, hypothesis testing, and assumption control
- Formulation of findings and conclusions

The basic requirements for taking a seminar are:
- Availability of at least 4 hours per week to dedicate to the seminar course.
- Internet access.
- Reasonable handling of communication and computer tools.
- Language proficiency in the language in which the course will be taught. The official languages are Spanish and Portuguese.
