Conference on Foreign Policy and International Integration of Brazil

The Federal University of ABC (UFABC) hosted the “II National Conference on Foreign Policy and International Integration of Brazil”, from June 8 to 10 under the slogan “Sovereignty, Development and Cooperation: Dialogues for a New Foreign Policy”, with participation Pablo Vommaro, Executive Director of CLACSO, along with specialists from Latin America, China, South Africa and the United States.

Pablo Vommaro together with Giorgio Romano, coordinator of the Observatory of Foreign Policy and International Insertion of Brazil, UFABC, one of the organizers of the Conference, and Nicolás Malinovsky, specialist in energy and nuclear sector.
The meeting brought together academics, government representatives, public policy officials, civil society organizations and international specialists to discuss the challenges of Brazil's international integration in the current global context.

The Conference was organized by Observatory of Foreign Policy and International Insertion of Brazil (OPEB), the Postgraduate Programs in International Relations of the UFABC and the UNIFESP, the Perseu Abramo Foundation (FPA) and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES).

Among the main topics of discussion were multilateralism, relations with the BRICS, South-South cooperation, the climate emergency, relations between Brazil and the major powers, as well as the challenges for building a more participatory foreign policy.
The activities included conferences, panel discussions, academic seminars, and training spaces geared towards graduate students and teachers.
