Don't mess with mothers!

 Don't mess with mothers!

Don't mess with the mothers!
In an ignominious act
the dark powers try
erase memory by decree
denying dictatorships
their inhumane practices
The thousands of detained-disappeared
treated as internal enemies
which justifies its repressive logic
act with cruelty
against any dissenting idea
of a generation that pursued the dream
social justice
in his homeland and on the continent
Thousands were snatched away
from their homes, from their neighborhoods, from their streets
Thousands with first and last name
who paid with their arrest, torture, and death
the crime of thinking and challenging
to the usual powers
Their mothers, now grandmothers
They soon understood the horror of that infamy.
felt in their broken hearts
in his empty arms
tired of waiting
for the son, the missing daughter
Overcoming fear
with deep maternal love
they decided to cross the threshold
of the assigned roles
because of patriarchal power
And they began to walk
Walking, walking
They gave new meaning to the Plaza de Mayo
They defied all the harsh weather
indifference
the fatigue
the brutal repression
Walking, walking
consciousness began to emerge
and the denunciation of barbarity
It spread to streets and squares
from all countries
where enforced disappearance
It was a cowardly recourse
of the dictatorships
Mothers gave meaning
to the word solidarity
They joined all the causes
that threaten humanity
Your presence
their white handkerchiefs
they became indispensable
anywhere it claims
memory and truth
Walking, walking
persisting
They opened prisons
places of torture
They confronted the authors
of so much iniquity
They got their grandchildren back
to whom murderous hands
Their identity was stolen
They lit up like fireflies
that period of darkness
They are a constant inspiration
to say never again!
That's why and therefore
Today thousands of voices are rising up
of the past and the present
to demand
 Don't mess with mothers!
They are dignity
