Agroecology Community of Practice in the Andes

CLACSO participates, through its Research and Training Program in Andean Agroecological Systems, in the 19th Annual Meeting of the Community of Practice (CoP) of the program Global collaboration for resilient food systems CRFS-Andes of the McKnight Foundation, which takes place from December 3 to 8 in La Paz, Bolivia.

In that context, on Monday, December 4, the Agroecological Practices and Technologies Fair was held, organized by the projects adhering to the CdP Bolivia (UMSA, PROSUCO, PROINPA).

On Tuesday the 5th, at the opening of the Meeting, Jane Maland Cady (McKnight Foundation – Minnesota), Roberto Ugas y Claire Nicklin (CRFS-Andes officials) emphasized the need to strengthen the global dissemination of regional research in agroecology and agroecological systems to achieve greater influence on the definition of global policies on climate, environment, agricultural production and health.

Then, in conjunction with “Seeds and School” CIZA-Peru, “Young Agro-Ecologists” ANPE-Peru, “Collective Action” PROSUCO-Bolivia, CLACSO facilitated the participatory session of the Working Group on “Rural Vitality”.

The presentations of the working group projects and open sessions continue until Friday the 8th, when the joint work agenda for next year will be defined.
