Strategic communication for territorial and community development

The training program “Strategic Communication for Territorial and Community Development” is a virtual seminar designed to critically analyze the role of communication as a constitutive dimension of social management, local governance, and territorial development processes in Latin American contexts. From a situated, participatory, and intercultural perspective, the seminar draws on theoretical contributions from Latin American critical thought and concrete experiences in community communication, public policy, and collective action, challenging hegemonic instrumental models of communication for development. Across ten modules, the program fosters dialogue between academic and local knowledge, strengthening capacities for designing participatory communication strategies aimed at community empowerment, collaborative conflict resolution, and territorial sustainability. The program is geared toward graduate students, researchers, professors, public officials, and social actors committed to social transformation processes, in accordance with South-South principles and CLACSO's training guidelines.
