Has the final stretch begun in the negotiations for the nuclear deal with Iran?

Interview with Martín Martinelli

The countries that signed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) are resuming negotiations at meetings in Vienna, Austria, and hope to make progress. Iran is demanding that the US lift the sanctions imposed in 2018 under the presidency of Donald Trump (2017-2021), when it unilaterally withdrew from the agreement signed in 2015 with Iran, Russia, China, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom.

The agreement involved lifting international sanctions on Tehran in exchange for a commitment to limit its nuclear program. But in 2019, a year after Trump's withdrawal, Tehran began gradually reducing its commitments under the nuclear deal.

Martín Martinelli, from the Geohistorical Observatory of the National University of Luján, Argentina, and co-coordinator of the CLACSO/Al Zeytun Magazine Special Group "Palestine and Latin America" participated on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 in the radio program In Orbit which is broadcast by Radio M24 (Uruguay); Radio Del Plata (Argentina); Radio Illimani – Patria Nueva (Bolivia) and Radio Kawsachun Coca (Bolivia).
