“Latin American Perspectives” Collection

We present three of the winning books from the third Open Call for Latin American Perspectives.
Viable Sexual Citizenships in Latin America and the Caribbean This is an in-depth analysis of the struggle of gender and sexual minorities in Latin America and the Caribbean for the recognition of their rights. Through a critical and intersectional perspective, the book addresses the expansion of citizenship beyond the political and legal spheres, questioning the limitations imposed by neoliberalism and the state.
An anti-geopolitical view: tension, resistance and emancipation in Latin America It proposes a break with old geopolitics, paving the way for an anti-geopolitics forged in listening, resistance, and imagination. The book invites us to consider the continent's present and future as a persistent enigma that demands new questions and perspectives.
Prefiguring the future: Extractive and energy dynamics in a Latin American context It analyzes in depth the progress of the energy transition and agro-extractivism in Latin America, revealing the social and environmental conflicts they generate, and examines the active role of the State and corporate media in promoting extractive projects, often to the detriment of communities and nature.
