Latin American Perspectives Collection

These two new volumes in the Miradas Latinoamericanas collection, co-published with Siglo XXI México, are the result of the second open call of the same name and are currently available in paper format.
The dilemmas surrounding the construction of a welfare state raise the question of whether it is possible, under the socio-economic and political conditions of our countries, to build a social contract that is inclusive and supportive in order to sustain welfare states, or how to move towards its construction in societies with extreme inequality, concentration of wealth, and cultural diversity.

The Worlds of Work reflects on the experiences of work and of workers in the region, from a historical perspective. Its pages are part of a historiographical legacy that broadened our understanding of the worlds of work by incorporating new variables, sources, and methods.
