Organized by the Regional Network Trenzando Cuidados, the Gender and Trade Network, the Inter-American Conference on Social Security, the Latin American and Caribbean Network for Economic, Social and Climate Justice (LATINDADD), Oxfam, the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), the Global Care Alliance, and the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD).

The Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean is a subsidiary body of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and is the main United Nations intergovernmental forum on women's rights and gender equality in the region. Unique in the world, it has been convened regularly since 1977 to analyze the regional and subregional situation regarding women's autonomy and rights and to present recommendations on public policies for gender equality, in accordance with regional and international agreements. It is organized by ECLAC, as the Conference Secretariat, and since 2020 has been held in coordination with UN Women.
CLACSO She participated in the Conference in various spaces and activities, especially as a member of the Trenzando Cuidados network and the Global Care Alliance, represented by Karina Batthyány, Gloria Amézquita, Berenice Ramírez and Nora Goren.
The XVI Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean discussed the transformations in the political, economic, social, cultural and environmental spheres to promote the care society and gender equality.
Also, during the meeting, the relaunch of the Gender Equality Observatory of Latin America and the Caribbean (OIG) took place, and a segment entitled Memory and Future will be held on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the First World Conference on Women (Mexico City, 1975).
Over the past 48 years, ECLAC member states have held 15 meetings of the Regional Conference.
