CLACSO at the 34th Annual IAFFE Conference in Cali, Colombia

From July 9 to 11, 2026 , CLACSO participated in the 34th Annual Conference of the International Association for Feminist Economics (IAFFE) , held at ICESI University in Cali, Colombia, under the theme Feminist Economics and Transformative Change: Ideas, Policies and Movements.

On behalf of CLACSO, Nora Goren , coordinator of the Strengthening and Articulation Area, participated in the panel "Care Work in Feminist Economic Justice. A view from the Global South ," organized by the Trenzando Cuidados initiative , of which CLACSO is a part.

Within this framework, she presented the paper "From the social organization of care to the labor organization of care: expanding the agenda of feminist economic justice ," where she proposed deepening the debate on care by incorporating the dimension of the working conditions of paid domestic workers.

In addition to its academic participation, CLACSO was part of the special agenda organized by the Colombian Presidential Agency for International Cooperation (APC Colombia) within the framework of the program "South-South Exchange: Care for Equality, Outstanding Models and Policies in the Global South ." This initiative brought together representatives from local governments, international organizations, academia, and civil society organizations to learn about innovative care policy experiences, participate in visits to the CuidArte ecosystems in the city of Cali, attend technical roundtables on the Valle del Cauca Departmental Care System, and discuss the challenges of strengthening regional cooperation and the development of comprehensive care systems with a feminist perspective.

CLACSO's participation in IAFFE reaffirms its commitment to the production of critical knowledge, the strengthening of international feminist networks, and the construction of regional agendas oriented towards economic justice, equality, and the sustainability of life.
