CLACSO at the 34th Annual IAFFE Conference in Cali, Colombia

From 9 to the 11 of July of 2026CLACSO participated in the 34th Annual Conference of the International Association for Feminist Economics (IAFFE), held at ICESI University in Cali, Colombia, under the motto Feminist Economics and Transformative Change: Ideas, Policies and Movements.

On behalf of CLACSO, Nora GorenThe coordinator of the Strengthening and Articulation Area participated in the meeting "Care Work in Feminist Economic Justice: A View from the Global South", organized by the initiative Weaving Care, a space of which CLACSO is a part.

Within that framework, she presented the paper "From the social organization of care to the labor organization of care: expanding the agenda of feminist economic justice"where she proposed deepening the debate on care by incorporating the dimension of the working conditions of paid domestic workers. 

In addition to its academic participation, CLACSO was part of the special agenda organized by the Presidential Agency for International Cooperation of Colombia (APC Colombia) under the program "South-South Exchange: Care for Equality, Outstanding Models and Policies in the Global South"This initiative brought together representatives from local governments, international organizations, academia, and civil society organizations to learn about innovative care policy experiences and participate in visits to ecosystems. Take care of yourself from the city of Cali, attend technical meetings on the Valle del Cauca Departmental Care System and discuss the challenges to strengthen regional cooperation and the development of comprehensive care systems with a feminist perspective. 

CLACSO's participation in IAFFE reaffirms its commitment to the production of critical knowledge, the strengthening of international feminist networks, and the construction of regional agendas oriented towards economic justice, equality, and the sustainability of life.
