As has been the case for the past four years, CLACSO is present in Mexico for a new edition of the Guadalajara International Book Fair, The most important publishing meeting in Latin America, from November 30 to December 8, which has Spain as its guest of honor this year.

At the collective stand of the Text Network –F25Readers will be able to find the latest publications from all our collections, as well as attend book presentations from our catalog and other events related to academic and professional programs.

The event was attended by directors and representatives of university press associations from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, and Portugal, as well as colleagues from various countries. Each representative had the opportunity to present relevant topics of common interest and to showcase projects related to the 2025-2030 Agenda in the region.

CLACSO's participation, led by Fernanda Pampín, Director of Publications, was dedicated to open science and its impact on public debate.

Introducing the To the Zapatista Lighthouse Collection

CLACSO, in a joint effort with the Retos Publishing Cooperative, the Jorge Alonso Chair and the University Center for Social Sciences and Humanities of the University of Guadalajara, commemorated the 30th anniversary of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation uprising with the publication of thirty paperback books within the framework of the CLACSO/Al Faro Zapatista Open Access Library.

The Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL) was founded 38 years ago by the University of Guadalajara. While recognized as the most important book fair in the Spanish language, it is also considered a fundamental cultural festival for our Latin American and Caribbean region. Authors from all continents and different languages ​​participate, and it represents a space for academic discussion of the major issues shaping our present.
