CLACSO in Colombia

From July 6 to 9, the Latin American Council of Social Sciences is organizing a series of meetings and forums, as well as meetings of Member Centers and Working Groups of CLACSO, in two cities in Colombia: Medellín and Bogotá.

The activities begin on Saturday the 6th, at 9:00 am, at the Latin American Autonomous University of Medellín, with a meeting of Member Centers and Working Groups from the Northeast, Antioquia and Coffee Regions of Colombia.

Then, on Monday the 8th, at 5:00 pm, at the headquarters of the National University of Colombia in Bogotá, the Member Centers and Working Groups from the Central, Bogotá and Southwest regions of the country will meet.

In both cases, the agenda includes: Council Information; CLACSO 2018 Balance; Proposals and initiatives of Member Centers Colombia, 2019 – 2022; Analysis of the work experience of the Working Groups 2016 – 2019; Lessons learned for the IX CLACSO Working Groups Call 2019 – 2022.

On Monday the 8th, at 11:30 am, in the Colombian capital, the meeting “Social Sciences, Scientific Publications and Knowledge Policies” will also take place at the Teachers' Cooperative of the National University of Colombia.

These three activities will be attended by CLACSO's Executive Secretary Karina Batthyány, Pablo Vommaro, Director of Research and Working Groups, and Carolina Jiménez from the Steering Committee for Colombia and the Department of Political Science, National University of Colombia.

Finally, on Tuesday, July 9th at 5:30 pm, at the Nursing Faculty of the National University of Colombia in Bogotá, the events will conclude with the forum “The Crossroads of Peace in Colombia.” In addition to Karina Batthyány and Pablo Vommaro, and moderated by Carolina Jiménez, this final activity will feature Álvaro Leyva Durán (Facilitator of the Havana Dialogues), Patricia Ariza (Colombian Theater Corporation), Jairo Estrada (National University of Colombia), and Leopoldo Múnera (National University of Colombia).
