Center for Advanced Studies of the National University of Córdoba – Argentina

The Center for Advanced Studies (FCS-UNC) is a postgraduate institution that carries out multidisciplinary teaching and research activities. Created by Resolution No. 105/90 of the Honorable Superior Council of the National University of Córdoba, its mission is to increase the quality of teaching and elevate the status of postgraduate scientific research. Consequently, it promotes research in defined priority areas, as well as exchanges of scientists and young fellows with national and international universities. To achieve these objectives, the Center develops various programs with the following aims:

• To carry out, implement and coordinate multidisciplinary postgraduate studies in all forms and levels, related to teaching, research and extension activities, proposing scientific exchange with local, national and foreign institutions.
• Investigate topics with multidisciplinary components in different areas of knowledge.
• To promote the creation of an environment in which multidisciplinary postgraduate academic improvement projects can be organized and executed, in order to make the most of the human and material resources available in the environment.

Since 2013, the Center for Advanced Studies (CEA) has been working on the project for the Faculty of Social Sciences at the National University of Córdoba (UNC), in conjunction with the School of Social Work and the Institute for Research and Training in Public Administration. On December 12, 2015, the University Assembly (the University's highest governing body) approved, by a large majority, the creation of the Faculty of Social Sciences. Finally, on April 4, 2016, Resolution 122/2016 was published in the Official Gazette of the Nation, officially recognizing the decision made by the University Assembly. Therefore, the Center for Advanced Studies is now officially part of the new Faculty of Social Sciences at the National University of Córdoba.
