Causes and repercussions of the war in Yemen

Interview with Martín Martinelli

The war in Yemen has been described by the UN as the world's worst humanitarian catastrophe. Since 2015, a coalition of states led by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates has intervened in the country with the aim of restoring power to the government of Abd Rabu Mansur Hadi, marking the beginning of an open armed conflict. Who benefits from this war, and who is harmed by it? What are the underlying motives?

Martín Martinelli, from the Geohistorical Observatory of the National University of Luján, Argentina, and co-coordinator of the CLACSO/Al Zeytun Magazine Special Group "Palestine and Latin America", participated on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 in the program Critical Play which is broadcast on TeleSur (starting at minute 16.40).
