Walking with Zapatismo, building community and hope

Authors: Inés Durán Matute and Rocío Moreno

Since January 1, 1994, the Zapatista communities have filled a people hungry for justice with hope and have demonstrated that revolutionary creation is a powerful tool for building other worlds. They don't think only about the reality of their own communities or of Chiapas, but understand themselves as part of something larger. In this way, they generate initiatives, making us, all of us who are different, part of them. One such initiative is the National Indigenous Congress (CNI), a space for encounter, reflection, and the articulation of the struggles of Indigenous peoples in Mexico.
