Climate change, care and gender

The workshop " Climate change, care and gender: challenges for the articulation of a national agenda " was held on Wednesday, June 17th in the Conference Room of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of the Republic (UdelaR) , Montevideo, Uruguay.

Its main objective was to create a space for exchange between various actors regarding the main challenges, opportunities and lines of action to incorporate the gender and care perspective into public climate change policies in Uruguay.

Specifically, the activity sought to: present the main findings of the state of the art for the Uruguayan case; identify and highlight the initiatives, experiences and ongoing policies that address the nexus between climate change and care at the national and territorial level; recognize the obstacles and tensions that hinder their articulation; and advance in the formation of a network of actors that can constitute the basis of the Platform for Social Dialogue foreseen in the project.
