CLACSO Working Group on Geopolitics, Regional Integration and the World System
The November 2019 coup in the Plurinational State of Bolivia called into question the role of soft power, placing us in front of a coup d'état that bears similarities to those perpetrated in the 60s and 70s.
This collective work stems from the shared thesis that the multidimensional coup strategy in Bolivia is driven by geopolitical causes and has geopolitical impacts. The academic texts and essays, developed from diverse analytical perspectives, are united under the certainty that Bolivia is a key territory, people, and project in the geopolitical reconfiguration of a capitalism in crisis.
The texts that make up this work offer an enlightening overview that runs counter to the narratives that justify and naturalize the usurpation of power.
