Art and politics

 Art and politics

El CLACSO Working Group on Art and Politics It becomes an active core of participants who, as Edgardo Antonio Vigo argues, reclaim creative freedom. It approaches the artistic field from a system of thought that intertwines the

ways of creating, the narrative forms of different languages, and the political positions and visions of the multiple times of Latin America.

This 21st century finds us studying the constitutive relationship between art and politics with variables that present the challenge of continuing to critically review the artistic field as a whole, in a time of digital cultures; of the productive mobility of artists, the active role of minorities and the problems surrounding non-sexist and feminist education, respect and non-discrimination towards sexual dissidence, justice and reparation for victims, the relationship of the State with indigenous peoples, centralism, public space and communities, migrant policies; and the political ups and downs of the countries of the region.

The production and aesthetic creation of culture in our territory is part of a people's perspective and identity, their structure of sensitivity, their historical memory, and their commitment to understanding the world around them in a contested scenario in/of the language of art and politics.
