Art, politics and memory in the social revolt, volumes I and II
These books, co-published by CLACSO and the National Pedagogical University (UNIPE) of Colombia, delve into the social upheavals that have swept through Latin America in recent years, addressing them as complex processes of political, pedagogical, symbolic, and emotional rearticulation. In these processes, art, memory, and collective action emerge as constitutive forces for new forms of shared existence.
Through a journey that connects experiences in Chile, Colombia, and other parts of the continent, the texts gathered here form a rhizomatic map of resistance where “memory becomes visible, audible, and tangible,” while artistic practices—murals, performances, songs, galleries—and pedagogical approaches contest the meaning of the present. These volumes thus propose a situated and pluralistic reading of the uprisings, understood as open processes that articulate resistance and creation.
