Art/Education. Selected Texts

 Art/Education. Selected Texts

This volume brings together—translated into Spanish for the first time—a selection of texts by Ana Mae Barbosa from 1980 to the present. The universe of her work, as well as her pedagogical ideas and practices, have always focused on restoring a voice, through the arts, to those excluded from the system and from hegemonic cultural codes. This selection of her texts seeks to disseminate the importance of her contributions to art education and to share her work with educators.

The arts in education, as part of our societies' right to enjoy artistic experiences, are not only the subject of reflections that are essential today, but also challenge us to build a broad space for dialogue around the issues and problems that are of common and shared interest to the social sciences and humanities. The National University of Asunción (UNA) and the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO) are strengthening a bond that serves as a platform and starting point for promoting this initiative and continuing the vital debates of the 21st century.
