This anthology compiles studies from a critical perspective, contributing to a rational and objective interpretation of the reality of Honduras over the last fifty years. The works gathered here have been formulated from diverse approaches, with a common denominator: to differentiate themselves from the conventional interpretation of phenomena and processes that serves to justify the status quo and is usually confined to official discourse. Twenty-two works have been anthologized, grouped as a plurality of questioning and proactive discourses. The works are not presented in chronological order, but rather systematically. They have been grouped into three sections: Dynamics of Power, Society, Economy and Development, and Thinking about the Nation. The texts in the first section refer both to the Central American crisis and the beginning of the democratic transition, as well as to the present moment. The second section includes works from the 1960s and 1970s, along with current contributions. In the third section, whose object of study is the nation, the texts have a broader temporal scope, ranging from the 20th to the 21st century.
