CLACSO Working Group on Afro-descendants and counter-hegemonic proposals
The International Decade for People of African Descent expires in a context of global crisis that deepens the reconfiguration of racism and implies the setting of new goals towards a second decade, after the impacts of racialized and feminized pandemics (Campoalegre, 2020). Faced with such challenges, the Afro-descendants and counter-hegemonic proposals working group does not stop, on the contrary, it accelerates the pace, collective, solidarity and firm.
In this direction, as a result of alliances with the Superintendence of Affirmative Actions and its Center for Afro-Brazilian Studies at the Federal University of Paraná, along with the network of Afro-diasporic networks that we are building, this new book emerges, entitled Anti-racism: approaches, tensions and alternatives, which brings together texts from twenty-four researchers from Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Argentina and Mexico with a powerful presence of Afro-descendant intellectuals.
The book is structured in three sections referring to key and highly topical problems in the anti-racist struggle.
