(Anti-)racism and Black Republicanism in Cuba

(Anti-)racism and Black Republicanism in Cuba

This new book in the joint collection that strengthens the alliance between CLACSO and CALAS addresses, from different perspectives, the complexity and relevance of race in Cuban society, from the colonial era to the present day. Its chapters demonstrate the enduring relevance of critical, radical, and humanist Afro-descendant thought, and seek to contribute to identifying the important contributions of Afro-descendants to popular republicanism in Cuba and to the debates on republicanism and populism throughout Latin America.

Book presentation – Tuesday, July 11, 11:30 a.m. Cuba time (GMT-4)

Broadcast by CALAS – Center for Advanced Latin American Studies
