In response to the latest aggression by the United States government against Cuba

US President Donald Trump recently signed another National Security Memorandum against Cuba, aiming to give a new legal framework to the measures approved during his first term and inflict further harm on the Cuban people. This is an old strategy of economic and commercial blockade designed to definitively end the work of the Cuban Revolution.
The Cuban centers, members of CLACSO, denounce this new imperialist action aimed at destabilizing the Cuban social project and reaffirm our inalienable right to sovereignty, independence, and human dignity. In a turbulent time for anti-capitalist alternatives, the experience of the Cuban Revolution remains an ethical and political benchmark for emancipatory social transformation.
Cuba is a thorn in the side of the global fascist right, because it remains a living historical possibility in the face of the global capitalist crisis. The Cuban Revolution is a model of built popular power, of emancipatory rebellion, and of a conscious collective subject, with the capacity for organization and mobilization against attempts at neoliberal neocolonialism disguised in new, modernizing guises. As part of Cuban society, we emphasize our human right to live in solidarity with social justice; this is the fundamental principle that drives us to continue thinking and working for socialism.
The U.S. government has never helped improve the living conditions of the Cuban people. This act of hatred and imperial arrogance is also a commitment to the colonization of critical thought. From a position of scientific commitment and intellectual and political dedication to the emancipation of the Latin American and Caribbean peoples, the CLACSO community in Cuba reaffirms its militant epistemological commitment against the fascist and fundamentalist alliances of global imperialist domination.
