Pablo Iglesias, former second vice president and minister of Social Rights and Agenda 2030 of the Government of Spain between 2020 and 2021, co-founder and former general secretary of Podemos, associate professor of Political Science at the Complutense University and member of the Institute for Republic and Democracy, participated in a dialogue with the Executive Director of CLACSO, Karina BatthyányDuring his speech, he highlighted the important role that Latin America and the Caribbean play as an "intellectual and ideological reserve of the left worldwide."

He also analyzed that “coups in our time are not necessarily based on military force; they rely on television and the media, and they also have an organizational dimension within the powers of the State. There is a political far right, a media far right, a judicial far right, a military far right, and a far right that organizes itself within economic power.”
