Alain Touraine in Latin America

 Alain Touraine in Latin America

Alain Touraine was the most influential French intellectual in Latin America from the 1960s until his death in 2023. The most revolutionary contribution of his work was associated with the creation of a global vision of social change, in which Latin America played a central role.

This book brings together essays by some of his most distinguished students, followed by the winning entries from the 2023 CLACSO competition, and finally two works by Touraine himself, in which he demonstrates his commitment to the development of Latin American sociology and to the continent's social movements. It is a tribute to an author who, by right, belongs to the annals of Latin American social sciences.
