 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

During her visit to Madrid, Spain, where she participated in the panel discussion “Inequalities and transformations of work: critical analyses between Latin America and Europe”, organized by Transform! Europe, Comisiones Obreras, Observatori DESC and the Latin American Council of Social Sciences, Karina BatthyányThe Executive Director of CLACSO held meetings and signed collaboration agreements with important local institutions.


On Monday, September 19, CLACSO signed a cooperation agreement with the Secretary of State for the 2030 Agenda Lilith Verstrings Revoltwhich will allow us to work together to strengthen the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). “With this agreement, the dialogue between Latin America, the Caribbean and the government of Spain is strengthened and deepened,” Batthyány stated at the end of the meeting, where she was accompanied by the directors of CLACSO. Nicholas Arata y Pablo Vommaro, among others.

Let us remember that the UN General Assembly adopted in 2015 the “2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”, an action plan for people, planet and prosperity, which also intends to strengthen universal peace and access to justice.


CLACSO also signed a collaboration agreement with the Chair of Sustainability, Social Inclusion, Diversity and Human Rights at the Carlos III University of Madrid and Transform! Europe to carry out joint projects on issues of inequality and democracy in 2023.


Karina Batthyány also met with Pablo Iglesias to discuss the relationship between media and politics, a topic he has researched and on which he has just published the book "Media and Sewers." They agreed to work together on a series of actions that will contribute to further deepening the discussion in that direction.

Pablo Iglesias, former general secretary of the Podemos party, was second vice president and minister of Social Rights and Agenda 2030 of the Government of Spain between 2020 and 2021.
