Goodbye to María Camila Ospina Alvarado
It is with great sadness that we received the news of the passing of our beloved María Camila Ospina Alvarado, Colombian researcher at the Center for Advanced Studies in Childhood and Youth of CINDE and the University of Manizales and one of the coordinators of the Working Group “Childhoods and youth” of CLACSO.
Co-author of several books published by CLACSO in open access, María Camila also coordinated diplomas and specializations.
Among other activities, she moderated the dialogue on “Genuine Participation of Children in Research Processes” in March of this year. Furthermore, the research team she was part of was one of the winners of the “Care in Rural Contexts in Latin America and the Caribbean” grant program with the project: “Inviting You to Peace: Territories of Care for Human Development from Early Childhood in Rural Contexts” in Colombia.
The Latin American Council of Social Sciences extends its deepest condolences to her family, especially to Toya, Héctor Fabio and Angie, and to her friends and colleagues, with the certainty that her teachings will continue to guide us on the unwavering path towards more just and democratic societies that prioritize the problems of our children and youth, one of the issues to which María Camila dedicated all her energy, love and wisdom.
