Goodbye to Leonor Arfuch

CLACSO deeply regrets the passing of Leonor Arfuch, a prominent Argentine intellectual, university professor and author of a fundamental work for the social sciences of our region.

Arfuch served as Full Professor of the subject "Politics, new subjectivity and discourse. Theoretical problems and contemporary debates" of the Sociology degree of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and as Professor of the Doctoral Program of said Faculty, among many other teaching and research functions.

Her work on subjectivities, memory and identities, the analysis of the interview understood as a dialogical invention and of biographical space as a category to account for the hybridization of textualities that characterizes our culture, are just some of the contributions that this great Latin American intellectual leaves us.

CLACSO expresses its most sincere condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, students and disciples for this sensitive loss for the Latin American intellectual field.
