 Goodbye to Enrique de la Garza Toledo

On March 24, the Mexican sociologist, researcher, professor, and academic Enrique de la Garza Toledo passed away in his native country. CLACSO mourns this loss and extends its deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues, while also highlighting his important work.

Specializing in the sociology of work, industrial relations, social science methodology and social theory, Garza Toledo participated in numerous productions of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences.

He coordinated the book “Critique of Neocolonial Reason”, jointly published by CLACSO, CEIL-CONICET, Metropolitan Autonomous University and Autonomous University of Querétaro.

He was also one of the authors of “Marx, 200 Years: Present, Past and Future,” a collective work that compiles the papers presented at the Marx 200 Forum, organized by CLACSO within the framework of the Latin American and Caribbean Conference of Social Sciences and the First World Forum of Critical Thinking, in November 2018.
