Fifth Conference “Democracy and Inequalities”
September 17 - 9:00 am - September 18 - 6:00 PM +0 UTC

📍 National University of José C. Paz
📅 September 17 and 18, 2026
The V Conference “Democracy and Inequalities: Challenges and possible agendas in Latin America in the face of the reconfiguration of the global order” is proposed as a space for reflection and critical analysis on the interrelationships between inequality and democracy in the region.
In a context marked by profound geopolitical transformations, environmental crises, and growing socioeconomic inequalities, the conference invites participants to discuss the contemporary challenges facing Latin American democracies. The concentration of wealth, social exclusion, and tensions surrounding access to fundamental rights directly impact the legitimacy of institutions and social participation.
Through working groups, panels, roundtables and workshops, the meeting seeks to promote an interdisciplinary dialogue that contributes to the construction of agendas oriented towards a more inclusive and just democracy.
👥 Intended for: researchers, teachers, students and social and political leaders.
