Interdisciplinary Seminar on Sexual Citizenships in Latin America and the Caribbean (SICISAL). Panel 5: Urban Morphology of Desire

November 18 – 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm Argentina

📅 Wednesday, November 18 | Virtual format
🕘 10 a.m. (Mexico City), 13 p.m. (Buenos Aires), 18 p.m. (Madrid)

The panel “Urban Morphology of Desire” proposes a space for critical and interdisciplinary reflection on the relationships between the city, sexuality, and the production of urban space. Starting with the question of how the city-desire is configured from the perspective of “non-places,” it seeks to problematize the ways in which productive and reproductive dynamics have historically shaped urban territories, regulating the possibilities for encounter, affective expression, and the construction of subjectivities. In this sense, the discussion on the urban morphology of desire not only challenges the forms of urban organization but also reaffirms the importance of recognizing and guaranteeing the right of all people to inhabit, transform, and enjoy urban spaces from the diversity of their sexual and affective experiences.
