Thirty years after the historic protests in Cutral-Co and Plaza Huincul, considered a turning point in the emergence of the piquetero movement in Argentina, this event offers a space for collective reflection on the transformations, continuities, and challenges facing organizations of unemployed workers. The gathering will bring together researchers and members of social movements to discuss the trajectories of the piquetero movement, its organizational and struggle strategies, its links with the state, the informal economy, and grassroots feminisms, as well as its contributions to popular education initiatives and the building of new relationships between universities and local communities.

Three decades after that event, the conference seeks to recover assessments, lessons learned and perspectives to understand the relevance of these experiences in contemporary Argentina.
