Beatriz de las Heras is Professor of Contemporary History at Carlos III University of Madrid. She teaches in the Department of Humanities: History, Geography, and Art and has been a Researcher at the Institute of Culture and Technology at Carlos III University of Madrid since 2003. With a PhD in Humanities, specializing in Theories and Practices of History, she is an expert in photography as a medium for preserving memory and as a tool for strategic analysis. Director of the History and Film Conference and the Permanent Seminar on Image and Word, she is the author of monographs on technical photography and Principal Investigator on several research projects.

Alberto del Castillo is a Professor-Researcher at the “Dr. José María Luis Mora” Research Institute of the National Council for Humanities, Sciences and Technologies (CONAHCYT) and a Professor in the Postgraduate Program in History and Ethnohistory at the National School of Anthropology and History. He holds a PhD in History from the Center for Historical Studies at El Colegio de México and the Autonomous University of Puebla. He is a CONAHCYT Research Fellow and co-coordinator, along with Dr. Rebeca Monroy, of the research line “History and Image” in the Postgraduate Program in History and Ethnohistory at the National School of Anthropology and History.
