La Latin American Sociological Association (AT) invites proposals and participation in the XXXV Latin American Congress of Sociology, which will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from July 26 to 31, 2026, Under the motto “Between polycrisis and alternatives: horizons of Latin American critical sociology”The meeting will bring together sociologists from Latin America and the Caribbean, along with researchers, teachers and students, with the aim of strengthening critical sociological debate and collectively reflecting on contemporary challenges from a transformative perspective.
The call is aimed at the submission of proposals for:
- Working Groups (WGs)

Roundtables
The proposals must align with the objectives of the congress and contribute to enriching the sociological discussion from multiple regional and interdisciplinary perspectives.
Participation and requirements
The call for papers is open to the academic and sociological community of Latin America, the Caribbean, and other regions interested in the congress themes. Submissions that offer critical analyses and experiences that strengthen sociology as a discipline committed to social transformation are encouraged.
Schedule
- Until March 10, 2026: Deadline for submission of GT abstracts.
- Until March 17, 2026: Deadline for proposals for Round Tables / Tables / Panels.
- Until April 1, 2026: Evaluation of proposals by coordinators.
- As of April 15, 2026: Publication of acceptance letters.
- June 10, 2026: Publication of the preliminary program.
- 1 July of 2026: Publication of the final program.
- July 26–31, 2026: Holding the congress in Rio de Janeiro.
