Call for Papers. XIV Latin American Congress on Peace Research “Heartbeats of Hope: Building Peace and Transforming Conflicts through Peaceful Means”

The XIV Latin American Congress of Peace Research, "Heartbeats of Hope: Building Peace and Transforming Conflicts through Peaceful Means", It will be held on April 1, 2, 3 and 4, 2025 in person. The event is organized by the Latin American Council for Peace Research (CLAIP) with the collaboration of Universidad Externado de Colombia and its Peace Center, associated with the University Extension Directorate.

On this occasion, the academic community and all organizations, social movements, activists and artists committed to peacebuilding and transformation are invited to participate. nonviolent from conflicts and the defense of life, to present proposals that contribute to building paths of hope in Latin America and the world through peacebuilding and the transformation of conflicts by peaceful means.

The XIV Latin American Congress on Peace Research accepts papers on research processes and practical experiences; roundtables; artistic interventions, workshops and book presentations, in Spanish, Portuguese and English, related to any of the fields of knowledge and disciplines linked to the following themes:

  • Art, culture, communication and technologies for peace
  • Peacebuilding, human rights, peace processes, restorative and transitional justice.
  • Women, territories and ecologies for life.
  • Non-violent, alternative and solidarity-based economies.
  • Social movements, civil resistance, and nonviolent action.
  • Education, subjectivities, worldviews, knowledge and pedagogies for peacebuilding.
  • New communitarianisms, interculturality and decolonization.
  • Participatory democracies, institutional framework and public policies.
