Call for papers for the XXVIII International Meeting of Reflection and Research (EIRI 2026)

The Organizing Committee of the XXVIII International Meeting for Reflection and Research (EIRI 2026) invites researchers, teachers and postgraduate students to submit proposals for presentations and closed panels to participate in this important space for international academic exchange.
The meeting, organized by the DLAC-UTAD, CES-UC and the CEL-UTAD, will be held on the days 7 and 8 October 2026 in the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD), in the city of Vila Real, Portugal, under the motto:
“The Social Contract in Dispute: Discourse, Legitimacy and Transformation”
In a context marked by profound political and social tensions, in which democracy, human rights and international law face unprecedented challenges, EIRI 2026 proposes an interdisciplinary space for theoretical reflection and empirical analysis on the foundations of the political bond and its contemporary transformations.
The call is aimed at proposals coming from the arts, humanities and social sciencesand submissions will be accepted in Portuguese, Spanish and English.
