From June 7 to 10, 2022, the 9th Latin American and Caribbean Conference of Social Sciences will take place at the facilities of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), in the capital of the country where CLACSO has 101 member Centers and associated networks, in addition to a long history of activities and agreements with local institutions.
Previously, on June 5 and 6, 2022, two CLACSO Assemblies will take place: the Extraordinary Assembly to consider the statutes and the Ordinary Assembly, which is held every three years and is where the perspectives at the regional and global level are discussed and where the main guidelines for the work of the following years are set.
The #CLACSO2022 edition will feature open and special panels with international guests, as well as keynote lectures and dialogues with leading figures from the political, academic, and social fields, in addition to training workshops, panels, and roundtables. It is worth noting that this event will also include an international book fair for social sciences and humanities and an international film series, among other special events.
The Latin American and Caribbean Conference of Social Sciences (CLACSO) has been, since its first edition in 2003, the largest academic and political event in the Social Sciences and Humanities worldwide. In its eight previous editions, which coincided with the General Assemblies of the Council, diverse themes have been addressed in response to the political and social circumstances of the region. In 2022, the central theme of the Conference will be the complex web of inequalities.
