CLACSO on 60 years of the Cuban Revolution
With the aim of commemorating and interpreting the multiple legacies of the 60 years of the Cuban Revolution, and debating its present and future, the Latin American Council of Social Sciences is organizing a series of activities from October 19 to 25 in Havana.
The Cuban capital will host more than 20 academic activities, cultural events, and workshops, including the screening of a documentary about the 60th anniversary of the Revolution that began on January 1, 1959, and book presentations. Additionally, the 100th Meeting of the CLACSO Steering Committee will take place, and the network of CLACSO centers in Cuba will organize the 60th Anniversary of the Revolution Forum.
The following activities have already been confirmed:
| • VII International Meeting “Childhoods and youth in Latin America and the Caribbean: contexts, experiences and struggles” (CIPS). • III Workshop “Identity, culture and youth. Analytical perspectives and challenges to social transformation” (ICIC Juan Marinello). • Scientific Conference “Social Sciences and Humanities in times of Revolution: achievements and contradictions” (SEAP). • V Conference of Strategic Studies “Geopolitics in conflicts and an international order in transition” (CIPI). • International Symposium “Social emancipation versus domination in the Latin American and Caribbean context. Contributions from the Social Sciences” (CIPS). |
Finally, the Latin American Council of Social Sciences, the CLACSO Postgraduate Network in Education, and the Center for Martí Studies (CEM) invite master's and doctoral students, public policy officials, and representatives of civil society committed to education at different levels of the education system and beyond, to apply to participate in the international postgraduate schools:
