Aníbal Redondo Research Competition on the Relationship between Education and Work 2019 | 5th edition

The UOCRA Foundation and its publishing house, Aulas y Andamios, together with Novedades Educativas, the National University of Tres de Febrero, the National Pedagogical University, the National University of José C. Paz, the Organization of Ibero-American States and the Latin American Council of Social Sciences, are calling for submissions of unpublished and original works related to academic research, and institutional and/or territorial experiences, with the purpose of promoting and disseminating knowledge production in the field of the relationship between Education and Work.

Competition Rules The competition is divided into two main categories: a) “Academic Research” b) “Institutional and/or Territorial Experiences” “Academic Research” may consist of (a) undergraduate theses, or master's or doctoral dissertations that have already been defended and approved by the respective evaluation committees of the student's or researcher's institution; or (b) research papers on the subject carried out by academics independently of any university degree process. “Institutional and/or Territorial Experiences” must be analytical accounts of practices carried out in schools or centers and linked to the relationship between Education and Work. To be accepted, the papers must have the corresponding endorsement of the institution where the respective experience takes place. Eligibility: The competition is open to students, graduates, and non-graduates of Higher Education, as well as teachers and administrators in Education—both general and Technical-Professional Education in particular—whose work falls within the research theme of “the relationship between Education and Work.” Competition Jury: The jury will be composed of three distinguished specialists in the field of Education and Work (ad-hoc specialists may be convened if necessary). The names of the jury members will be announced along with the competition results. The Jury will be responsible for deciding on the thematic and methodological relevance of the submitted works. The Jury will also be responsible for deciding on any situation that arises not covered in these rules. In the event of a disagreement, the Jury will decide by simple majority. The prize may be declared void, and the Jury's decision will be final.

Interested parties must submit: • In Times New Roman font, 1,5 line spacing, three printed copies of the text, which should be between 50.000 and 60.000 words in length. These copies should only be identified by a pseudonym and should not include institutional references or specific or general acknowledgments from the applicant. The copies must be submitted in three separate envelopes, each marked “Study Competition on the Education-Work Relationship.” • Inside another sealed envelope, bearing the applicant's pseudonym on the front, the author's personal information must be included: first and last name, age, nationality, postal address, and email address. In the case of academic research, the title of the dissertation or thesis, the defense date, the composition of the examining committee, and a photocopy of the approval certificate must be included. For institutional and/or territorial experiences, the corresponding endorsement from the administration of the institution where the respective experience takes place must be included.

• Entries must be submitted to the UOCRA Foundation headquarters, Azopardo 954, CABA, between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, either in person or by mail (in this case, the postmark date will be considered the submission date). Prizes: The two best works (one per category) will be published in book format. The results of the Contest will be announced through the usual channels of information dissemination within the discipline and will be communicated to the postal and email address provided by the applicant. 1 By TVET we understand: technical/vocational education (TVET), which includes the two modalities recognized in the region: technical education (TE) and vocational training (VT). This work considers TVET, with its TE and VT modalities. To ensure publication, the author must, within a period of no more than thirty (30) calendar days from the date the Contest results are announced, adapt the works to the instructions requested by the publishing entity.
