CLACSO-FOLEC in the Advisory Committee on Open and Citizen Science of the MINCYT, Argentina
The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MINCYT), Argentina, has just created an Advisory Committee on Open and Citizen Science, with the aim of providing expert advice on this subject. Dominique Babini, advisor on Open Science at CLACSO, co-author of the recent CLACSO-Carolina Foundation report on «Recent trends in open science and open access science policies in Latin America"And with extensive experience in the field of open access policies and practices in the region, has been invited to join the Advisory Committee.
One of the committee's main tasks will be to develop a diagnosis of the country's situation regarding the different aspects of the transition to Open Science, in order to develop policies and plan concrete actions, as well as to prepare documents to promote the consolidation of open science practices, infrastructures and processes in the country.
Furthermore, CLACSO has been invited to be part of the Argentine delegation in the intergovernmental debates for the review of the UNESCO Recommendations on Open Science to be approved at the UNESCO General Assembly in November 2021.
