"It is not new to state that education impacts the type of work a person can do, the degree of fulfillment they experience in those jobs, and their prospects for taking advantage of professional development opportunities throughout their lives. All this, without even mentioning the role that the level of education attained plays in political, social, and cultural life. In short, education provides us with better chances and greater freedom of choice, thereby increasing our potential for fulfillment within the complexities of life in contemporary societies. However, despite its strategic importance, it is also not new in the Argentine context that education in a broad sense, and the education system in particular, are not immune to the implications of the development crisis that has affected our society as a whole."
